GEOLOGY FIELD TRIP TO LANGKAWI WITH TIANJIN STUDENTS
The Department of Geology, Faculty of Science, Universiti Malaya successfully conducted a field trip to Langkawi last week of August 2025, accompanied by students from Tianjin and esteemed guest, Prof. Robert Mark Ellam.
The trip provided an excellent opportunity for hands-on learning and cross-cultural academic exchange. Students demonstrated a high level of enthusiasm throughout the fieldwork, actively engaging with lecturers, asking insightful questions, and showing strong interest in the geological features of Langkawi.
During site visits, students were observed taking detailed notes and sketches, reflecting their curiosity and commitment to understanding the geological formations. Their active participation significantly enriched the learning experience for everyone involved.
The field trip was not only educational but also fostered meaningful academic interaction between Department of Geology, Faculty of Science, Universiti Malaya and School of Earth System Science, Tianjin University, making it a memorable and impactful experience for all.
