Undergraduate Courses *
Offered with a semester based education system which allows full-time students the opportunity to graduate in 6 semesters.
Candidates need to take 108 Credits of courses that are designated. They comprise of i) 15
Credits from University
Courses, ii) 83 Credits from Departmental Core
Programme Courses which are made up of Compulsory Courses (48 Credits), Core Courses
(6 Credits) & Elective Core Courses (29 Credits) and iii)
10 Credits from Non-Core Programme Courses offered by other
institutes/departments from the same faculty.
Minimum Duration of Study 3 years
Entry Requirements:
Students applying for the undergraduate programme should preferably have studied science subjects such as Physics,
Chemistry, Biology & Mathematics at the STPM (HSC) level or possess equivalent qualifications. The medium of instruction for the
undergraduate programme is Malay or English language
Course Fee approximately (RM) 1650 (Subject to Changes) per year
Assessment for all courses taught will be by continuous assessment (40%) and a two-hour/three-hour examination (60%).*

Non-Core Programme Courses (Kursus Bukan Teras Program)
Students who are not studying for a Bachelor of
Science Degree in Geology or Applied Geology may take the following courses.
These courses SGES1301, SGES1302 & SGES1303 are not open to students who have already taken SGES 1201
and SGES 1202 courses.
SGES 1301 Man & Earth (2 credits)
SGES 1302 Introduction to Basic Earth's System (2 credits)
SGES 1303 Introduction to Basic Hydrosphere (2 credits)
