Museum Geology

ECONOMIC MINERALS Tektites Fossils Tropical Weathering

The Geology Museum is actually one of the many hidden treasures and one of the oldest museums in the University of Malaya.  It has an interesting collection of over 300 samples which include, fossils and rocks. A stunning display of gemstones and minerals in all their colourful glory can be seen.  The museum was started in 1959  was the brainchild of Dr. D.J. Gobbett and Prof. C.S Hutchison & Mr. C.T. Tan, who were some of the earlier staff of the department.
